How to fix "windows could not setup" issue with creating ad-hoc wireless connection in Windows 7

Usually, there are times when errors like this occurs when you're trying to create and ad hoc connection.


Follow the steps below to resolve errors on your ad-hoc wireless connection.

1. Check if your wireless connection is actually on. It can be a button on the sides or one of the function keys mostly represented with a wave signal ((.))

2. Next, check if your wireless device is actually enabled.
3. Right Click on My Computer > Properties > Device Manager > Network Adapters.


4. Right Click on each of your wireless connection and then choose Disable.


5. Wait for 30 secs then right-click again then Enable.

Try Creating an Adhoc Connection now.(if it still has same error. Continue with the next steps)




6. Then Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings



7. Right-click on the wireless connection icon then choose Diagnose



8. Under windows diagnostics diag box, Choose Apply Fix


9. After applying the fix, you can skip the next window which just asks if you wish to connect on any network. Choose Cancel.


You can now proceed in creating an adhoc wireless connection.

  4. Guys if you are using a laptop , make sure you turn on your wireless connection ( ie, the wireless on/off button {if available})

  9. it worked..but now when i try to turn on the wifi it says intel wifi technology cannot be connected while the wireless network adapter has a ad-hoc connection...what should i do?

  12. if adhoc doesnt set up, try uninstal all network adafter then after uninstal next install again to device manager

  13. My wifi is getting disabled automatically when connected with LAN cable. Since Wifi is diabled, not able to create adhoc network. How to solve?

  14. If WiFi adapter is getting disabled when LAN cable is plugged in, this could be a setting in the computer's BIOS / Setup preferences
